Meet Marton Jakab – Director, Marketing

Marton drives the marketing and communications efforts for Perfect Practice and associated brands, who create environments for their clients that enrich many people’s lives. He represents the business at conferences and regularly speaks at events across Australia. Marton is passionate and inspires dentists, doctors, veterinarians and allied health professional. He is part of the larger team responsible in delivering this relevant advice to the healthcare community and the right message to those healthcare practitioners who are wanting to start, renovate, relocate or expand their business. Marton is backed by, 70 + team members made up of a very experienced management team.

Marton is married with two teenage children plus a Cavoodle called Paris and lives in Sydney. He grew up in the inner city suburbs of Leichhardt and attended Newington College from years 7 to 12.

After finishing high school, Marton spent the next 3 years completing a Bachelor of Social Science degree at the University of Western Sydney whilst delivering pizza for Balmain Pizza Hut. After University, Marton worked for the department of community services as a residential care worker looking after mentally and physically disabled members of our community, as well as being a youth worker at Glebe youth centre. After 6 months, with a near death incident at work, he decided that this line of work wasn’t for him and he travelled to Europe backpacking for 6 months.

Speaking the Hungarian language helped Marton find a job at Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising and he worked in Budapest for over 12 months capitalising on visiting more destinations in Europe on the weekends because things are close.

After returning to Sydney at the age of 23, Marton then embarked on his advertising career working at Advertising agencies in both strategy and account management for more than a decade. He held senior positions such as Group Account Director and then General Manager for many of those years. During this time, he also completed a Masters of Commerce post graduate degree, majoring in Marketing and a diploma of Marketing Research from the University of New South Wales.

After spending half his career working in advertising, Marton then moved across to the marketing side of business and held several positions with property developers. He was head of Marketing at Meriton Apartments and Serviced Apartments reporting directly to billionaire Harry Triguboff and then moved to Payce Properties at the Homebush Bay development called The Waterfront, now Wentworth Point.

The GFC hit the world economy and Marton found himself without a job after being made redundant, so he founded MJ Marketing Group. A small consulting business that offered clients an outsourced marketing resource, where he wrote marketing plans for clients and implemented them as well as offering graphic design and web site services. Marton operated his own business for 8 and a half years.

After another short 5 month consulting role at Meriton as head of Marketing and PR, Marton then joined Perfect Practice and has been working here for over 3 years.
